The Guest speaker Raji Lukkoor, was introduced by Pushpa Subarao wherein she mentioned that Raji Lukkoor is a Engineer by profession but very much involved with Vipassana Meditation.
Thereafter Raji Lukkoor introduced the subject with the historical background of Satyanarayan Gonenka who initiated the Vipasana meditation. She informed that the concept of Vipassana is based on the Buddhist philosophy.
She said that all disturbances in life start as we crave for what we do not have with us. We crave for fame ,status, money ,power etc. Besides that we run away from what we do not want. It creates negative effects like, stress, anger, hate, bitterness which disturbed us. It also encourages impulsive behaviours, addiction, and worries
However we looks for happiness, peace of mind, and contentment. The meditation draw out all negative aspects from our inner and outward world. Our inner world is also surrounded with ego, jealousy, expectation and fear etc. The death is the greatest fear for human being.
The upasana workshops are being held periodically to train the mind of participants and to protect them from above mentioned adverse features. During the workshop the touch with outer world is disconnected, and the perfect silence is being observed for introspection. This is done in order to achieve peace of mind and happiness.
she concluded that Meditation creates a bridge between outer and inner worlds. It is based on silence, breathing and body awareness. The meditation create a Sthitaprajna position for the mediators. They also becomes immune of adverse forces in life. It brings more efficiency to face the life.
The Hindustani Classical Music was also presented in the last one hour by Laxmi Kulkarni. Man and Satish Gadadkar accompanied her on Tabla and Violin respectively.
