CHHAJJUKA CHAUBARA ON 25TH APRIL AT ICC, CUPERTINO ===================================================================






The program was started with the Birth Day celebration of Professor Krishna Butala one of the Seniors. Mrs Shakuntala Bahadur recited a poem on Krishna Butala. Thereafter M Santhnam inaugurated the celebration with ‘Omkara’. Mr M K Rao gave introduction of Butala wherein he mentioned the achievements of Butala in the sphere of Art, Writing, Music, Singing, and Engineering etc. Dinesh Bajaj inaugurated the Exhibition of Books, CD and Paintings of Dr Butala. Dinesh Bajaj also appreciated various achievements of Butala. Thereafter Butala sang one of the songs of’ Saigal.                      

Mr Dinker Spoke on the writing of ‘Purandara Das’. M Santhnam gave talk on the predictions of Nostradamus a french forecaster. Mrs Urmila Talwalkar presented one story titled ‘The game is over’ relating Surrogate Mother. M L Swamy presented few good quotations. R B Singh presented the Birth story of Khalsa. Indiraji presented few jokes and sang a song. T P Subramonian and his wife Kalyaniji presented Adi Sankracharya’s ‘Shivohm’. Amrit Verma presented talk on the recent succession of North Korea. Bharat Desai also spoke on ‘ The uncalled for advices’. The vote of thanks proposed at the end.

145 TH Session of FOSWL was presided over by Gopi Godhwani, Director, ICC, and the Guest Speaker was Kalpana Desai, Founder member of Society of Art and Cultural Heritage of India.
M L Swamy, Secretary gave the background and activities of various Chapters of FOSWL. Mrs Raghunath Welcomed the Guest Speaker and Mrs Rajalaxmi offered prayer.
Thereafter Kalpana Desai gave talk on 'Maharajahs Splendor of India's Royal Court' wherein she talked about Maharajahs, and their patronage of Art and Culture.
She exhibited in her power point presentations the paintings of historical events and portraits of various maharajahs. She also presented the various types of ornaments which were used by the maharajahs and their families. She also presented the paintings of Delhi Darbar of 1911. The Portraits of Maharajah Amarsigh,of Udaipur, Sayajirao Gaikwad,of Baroda, Nizam of Hyderabad, Maharajah Holker, Maharajah of Mysore, Maharani Chimnabai, and Sitadevi were presented wearing various types precious Jewelleries. She also showed the pictures of precious neckless and crowns used by various Royal Households. The Silver carriage of Maharajah, Bhavnagar was very glamorous. She tried to show the precious treasures of jewellery held by Royal Houses. It was a grand show of cultural heritage of India. The talk was very informative and interesting which was received very well.
Some of the Seniors were facilitated on their Birth Day including Pradeep Joshi.

MUSICAL AND YOGA PROGRAM ASON 6TH APRIL 2012

Usha Prabhu presented Musical program at the initiative of Anu Jagadeesh. She presented classical devotional songs related to Meerabai,Lord Krisha and Lord Shiva in Hindi, Kannada and other Languages. She sang those songs in classical Ragas including in Raag Maulkosh/Hindola. It was one hour melodious feast of music which was received very well.Usha Prabhu and Surendra Man who was accompanied her on tabla were felicited by the ICC, Cupertino. B V Jagadeesha, Director, ICC also attended the Musical function. M Santhnam proposed vote of thanks at the end.
Thereafter Vasanti Bhatt conducted Yoga session for one hour.

M Santhnam introduced the program of the day in the beginning.
Thereafter Dinesh Bajaj presented his talk on ‘The beautiful America’. He started with the Republican Party's process of selecting their nominee for the forthcoming presidential election. He informed that Mitt Romney is appears to be heading.He also discussed regarding the fate of Healthcare Bill which is at present lying with the supreme court. He further discussed regarding the individual right including the right of Gun. He also gave the latest information in respect of Basket Ball Games and Football. He briefed regarding the latest popular movies including ‘Hunger Game’, and Separation.
Jayshree Vasavada also talked about her personal American experiences related to her son and husband.
Uma Sheshadari presented her experiences during the recent visit to India. she reported regarding ‘Telagana agitation, UP elections, and regarding fire at culcutta hopital etc
A Srinivasan talked on the international events. He discussed the latest developments regarding Syria, Afghanistan and Burma.
Dr Mathure presented his talk on the’ Heart Attack and its causes thereon.
Thereafter Raji Lukkoor described her personal experiences during the Vipasana workshop. The question answer session was actively participated by seniors. It was received very well.
The Session ended with the vote of thanks by Dinesh Bajaj.
