145 TH Session of FOSWL was presided over by Gopi Godhwani, Director, ICC, and the Guest Speaker was Kalpana Desai, Founder member of Society of Art and Cultural Heritage of India.
M L Swamy, Secretary gave the background and activities of various Chapters of FOSWL. Mrs Raghunath Welcomed the Guest Speaker and Mrs Rajalaxmi offered prayer.
Thereafter Kalpana Desai gave talk on 'Maharajahs Splendor of India's Royal Court' wherein she talked about Maharajahs, and their patronage of Art and Culture.
She exhibited in her power point presentations the paintings of historical events and portraits of various maharajahs. She also presented the various types of ornaments which were used by the maharajahs and their families. She also presented the paintings of Delhi Darbar of 1911. The Portraits of Maharajah Amarsigh,of Udaipur, Sayajirao Gaikwad,of Baroda, Nizam of Hyderabad, Maharajah Holker, Maharajah of Mysore, Maharani Chimnabai, and Sitadevi were presented wearing various types precious Jewelleries. She also showed the pictures of precious neckless and crowns used by various Royal Households. The Silver carriage of Maharajah, Bhavnagar was very glamorous. She tried to show the precious treasures of jewellery held by Royal Houses. It was a grand show of cultural heritage of India. The talk was very informative and interesting which was received very well.
Some of the Seniors were facilitated on their Birth Day including Pradeep Joshi.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prema Santhnam.
