T P Subramonian introduced the Guest speaker Chetan V Sanghvi, who is from IIT, Kharagpur, Editor of ‘Jain Digest’, and Executive Director, CG-CoreEL, Fremont,CA
Chetan Sanghavi started his presentation very meticulously by explaining the meaning of some of the important terms. He explained ‘Namaste ‘as ‘I see God Within’ and ‘Jain Jaindra ‘means ‘ I see pure soul Within.’
He Said Jainism started with Bhagwan Rushabhdev before thousands of years ago and it ended 2600 Years ago with the last Tirthanker Mahavirswami. The main objective of Jainism is to empower Oneself, Society and Universe. It preaches that to attain Siddhi level one has to give up Rag and Dwesh. He further added that it teaches to accept True and to reject Untrue. The faith and knowledge always brings Self Realization on its own. The soul is in every living being and it is eternal and pure. The state of purity takes one to Siddha state of mind.
He further stated that Jainism also believes in respecting the equality, the Right to put self efforts,the acceptance of right of liberty in all living being. Besides that it also support the right of equal existence. He further informed that the religious messages are important but to understand the same has greater importance. Besides that it is necessary that those conveyed messages are practice after understanding them properly. One has to prove that he is enlightened through his conduct with others.
\ The Non possessiveness (Aparigraha), Adhering to the Truth are the basic concepts in Jainism. He concluded that Forgiveness,Introspection, Meditation are the sign of Realization.
The question answer session was also received very well. The several members actively participated in same.
