First Monday 'Current Events' program as on 1st October 2012

The program was conducted by Uma Sheshadri and she also presented Indian and International Affairs.
She briefed regarding the recent power failure in the Northern India, the communal riots in the Assam. She also mentioned regarding the Telagana Stir in the Andhra Pradesh, and the protest against the establishment of Atomic Station in Tamilnadu. She further reported regarding the launching of C-21 Mission by Isro. She also made reference regarding the cleaning Ganges. She concluded with the recent verdict given by Supreme Court regarding the bad condition of widows in the Brindavan.
She briefly gave report regarding launching of 'Curiosity ' on the Marsh by NASA. Besides that she informed regarding the removal of 'The deputy Attorney General of Pakistan who performed some Seva in one of the Gurudwaras in India She also informed that Pakistani Supreme court has given contempt notice to the Pakistan Prime Minister Asraf for not carrying out its directives regarding president Zardari and his Swiss Bank Accounts. She also briefly mentioned regarding the developments in Japan,Korea,Iran and Myanmar etc.
Dinesh Bajaj gave talk on America wherein he referred regarding the forthcoming Presidential Election in November 2012. He also discussed regarding the swing States like Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire etc. Besides that he also reported the recent trouble in Afghanistan. He informed that Samsung and Apple dispute may go in Higher Court.
The debate between two Presidential Candidates was held at the end. T P Subramonian represented Barack Obama and Dinesh Bajaj as a Mitt Romney. M Santhnam acted as Morderater in the debate. The both sides presented their cases very effectively.
Lal Khatri, Hari Verma , A Srinivasan, B R Singh also took part in the question answer session which took place at the conclusion of debate.
Thereafter Mahendrabhai took Yoga classes for forty five minuets at the end.
