THIRD MONDAY PROGRAM AS ON 17 TH DECEMBER 2012

                            The program was started with observing two minutes silence in the memories of  children who were killed in the recent massacred  at school, Connecticut and  sad demise of one of the seniors Subhash Deshpande at Poona. Dinesh Bajaj also gave emotional speech regarding the tragic death of those small kids. He also introduced the Guest Speaker,  Christ Schmidt of St Thomas Episcopal  Church, trained physicist and Engineer.
                             T P Subramonion gave opening remarks wherein he mentioned that christian religion is the largest religion in the world which is spreaded all over the world.
                              Thereafter Chirst Schmidt presented his talk on 'Christianity' wherein he initially gave  the historical background regarding the rise of christanity and its message. It was a time of Roman rule in Palestine where the Jesus Christ was born in 5 BC. His mother name was Mary. He was born in stable. It is said that mother Mary was virgin and Christ was given birth by God. Jesus Christ was crucified by Roman but he rises after three days.He gave messages to his selected disciples Mosses, Abraham, including his brother James. James propagated his message to Greece Turkey, Russia and other places. while Peter went to Rome for propagating Christanity where he met resistance from Emperor Nero. However in 313 Christanity was accepted as State Religion under the Roman Emperor Constantine.  The first time Bible was published in Latin in the the year 400. In the year 1095 the Pope become the head of Christain religion.
                              Martin Luther a German  brought 'Protestant' Reforms which believed in one God who is a Creator. While Catholic believes  that church is a body of Christ. They accepted the Pope as their Head. They also believed in six commandments and also to attend church on very Sunday   He concluded that christian believes in love thy Nebor and equality. They accept everyone who has a faith in Christanity.
                              T P Subramonion said in his summing up that the ultimately all religions are meant for betterment of man.
                     There was question answer session at the end which was received very well. Thereafter  Christmas songs were sang by Unise De Sa along with other Senior Ladies.
